Cosmic Horror

Why do we feel so uneasy in big sky country or when confronted with the open sea? The foreboding, faceless land of a total whiteout snow storm and the panic one feels when faced with a pitch black house during a power outage. Why does the unknown entice us yet scare us so much? Cosmic horror draws upon the power of the unknown and sublime to make us feel weak, insignificant, and vulnerable against something vast and natural.

When humanity clashes with the exalted we are met with cosmic horror.
