Library Services

Describes the library's services for students, instructors, and community

Borrowing

Members of the community (ages 18 and older) may get a free Community Library Card by providing a valid Driver's License or other State ID. Please bring your library card or photo ID to check out materials from the library.

Community members may borrow the following items:

  • Books: up to 5 at a time
  • Magazines: up to 5 at a time
  • Movies: up to 3 at a time
  • Music: up to 3 at a time

When you check out an item from the Bay College Library, you will get a printed or emailed receipt to help know when your item is due back to the library. If you provide the library with your email address, you will also receive an email the day before your item is due to remind you to return or renew the items you have checked out.

Please note: Items on Course Reserve and Technology equipment may not be loaned to Community Card holders.

Returning

Done with your items from the Bay College Library? Please return them so others may use them, too.

On the Escanaba Campus, please return books, movies, magazines, and music to any of the drop boxes. They are located:

  1. Inside the library
  2. Outside the library (left of the entrance)
  3. Outside of the Besse Theater (left of the entrance)

Please note: Replacement costs will be assessed on items that are long overdue. These costs may impact your ability to borrow other library materials.

Renewing

If your library materials are due soon and you need more time, you may renew the items to extend the due date.

Ways to renew library materials:

  1. Call the library: 906-217-4055
  2. Email the library
  3. Stop by the Bay College Library on the Escanaba Campus.

Please note: Items requested by another library user may not be renewed.
